" garden rituals "

---

when dreams begin to cross the threshold into reality, sparks fly, the mind expands, and each atom in the universe comes to rest. all matter manifests in a shape of your choosing, and the vibrations of magnetic fields caress.

we find ourselves in the proper place, and stillness permeates through the white noise. the clutter of abstract thought finds its alignment. people understand each other. you breath fuller.

we plant the seeds into the ether, and everything flourishes and blossoms.

you for at least a moment find your stride, and your soul beams.

tonight's homework:

create one piece of art in your life, success or folly, and revel in your complete ability to put something new into the world.

" a sign of a time "

---

the kentile floors sign is coming down in the gowns area of brooklyn after around 50 years.

when people talk about their anchors shifting and landmarks disappearing, they include changes like these.

the scaffolding less a structure of reenforcement, and more of removal. from sight, from site, from heart.

fare thee well.

no matter how many times i have the opportunity to photograph the same person, it is always an honor and a treat. the sense of collaboration, of trust, and a marker for the friendship.
how have we changed? sometimes i get that thing where i don’t recognize someone 100% because access to them has shifted from in-person/same city limits, to email distance, skype distance, longer-than-a-road-trip-of-a-normal-length distance.
but it does not make them a stranger. rather, i get the great pleasure of rediscovering them. i get to see up close the things which make them happy, which make them smile, which makes me remember who they are, and the joy that they bring.
these are the gems which gleam, and knowing they’re out in the world makes it an infinitely more habitable place to exist.

look how the air sparkles and shimmers in the golden light of a winter afternoon. listen how the hollows shriek in the mighty storm winds.

we’re knee-deep, and our feet are flying. adventuring, exploration, and the endless possibility of

simple pleasures.

this is how i would like to spend my year.

join me if you’ve the spirit, constitution, and time to extend.

finding the time is key too. you have to motivate yourself sometimes. you have to inspire yourself sometimes.
there are supporters and friends, parents and mentors, even strangers with good will. but you have to be your biggest fan and advocate.
love yourself, learn yourself, take care of yourself and your faculties, and then your experience will lend itself outward and into the world.
lemme know if you need a cheering session, because i can always help you out.
