no matter how large the quarrel, immense the woe, long the heartache, drawn out the drama, silent the fear, or incapacitating the anger…upon the first glimpse of a potential resolution, please make sure to schedule in an ice cream break.
it’s sweet and creamy, refreshing and lovely. a scoop of the supple beauty revitalizes and cleanses the mind of most stresses.
and even if you return back to the previous state of being, at the least, you’ve made an honest go of it. you’re going to be fantastic.

it was a grand sub-zero adventure birthday last night.
i turned thirty-four, and the place i chose to meet at far far away from any normal public transportation, was closed two hours early.
after stress-balling through backup plans and frozen fingers, we ended up going to a ramen place, which was also closed unexpectedly.
then after a curbside snowsquat, ended up at a french bistro where we all warmed up, shared moules-frites, steak-frites, laughter, loud noises, a zydeco live band, and in the end of the meal, free flutes of champagne. pretty nosh.
to top it all off, ice cream nightcap. double scoop strawberry/earl gray tea heaven on a sugar cone.
and just like that, it all worked out.
everything will always work out won’t it?
