Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do/study? Or what do you want to do?

working photog with a day job. love to walk around city streets, peer around corners, immerse myself in as much nature as possible, and swim in oceans. i’m not in school anymore, but i like to study human nature and the state of my sense of hesitation. i love to find or create opportunities to flex my sense of bravery.

Tell us a little about your photography. Why do you shoot? When did you start? What is your favorite thing to taken pictures of? Etc

i love to photograph people and the world around me. i’m not sure that it can be more concise than that, but it’s my truth; i love to take photographs of all the things which catch your eye.
everything and everyone is so interesting and alluring, fantastic and grotesque, lovely and profane. there is a poetry to the way it all evolves, and at times i cannot help but to observe and then lift that camera to my eye in an involuntary compulsion. it is a controlled madness of mathematics and emotional consumption. i received a camera from my parents when i was around 8; it was a DISC camera, and i remember really being excited at the prospect of photographing elephant seals on the beach. they were so enormous and scary, and i was too far away to get a great shot. i think that each camera i have been gifted or bought and used since then, had echoed the want to perfect that first desire to document. my work meanders between people and places/spaces, but i feel like i get the most satisfaction when spending time with a person in their home, and collaborating on a series of portraits stemming from a loose idea. more and more these days, my nudes especially are most gratifying because as long as we have known our bodies as a species, we can still find it shocking, elegant, and every attribute in between. there’s something great about happening upon new angles, which both elates and create a sense of wonderment.
   Which photographers/artists inspire you?

dear followers, happy new year to all! the fact that we all made it here, now, and in this moment, means that whatever hardships we faced, we got through them and are actively stating, “we can strive for better, we can heal, move forward, we are valid, we are a force to behold.” in this very spirit, i would like to both welcome you to 2014, and thank you so very much for all the support in the past year. i most definitely felt a great broad stroke forward in my creative output, and would love to think that this stride will continue to strengthen in this new year. this being said, i would like to put out a call for participants & collaborators for continued and new projects. when you have a desire to create something, sometimes you have to ask for help, and rather than be stoic and proud solely in my singular accomplishments, i work much happier with others. if you or someone you know are interested & in the nyc area, please contact me with no hesitation:
the adorned body : looking forward to closing out this tremendously fulfilling project and put it to a lovely rest. i am looking for a handful of familiars and strangers to sit for me, be interviewed, and have their voices heard. (nudes, M/F/TG & everything in between, all appropriate ages, signed release)
cape cloak cowl : a diptych series about perceptions of conformity and the deeper truths of individuality, personality, and emotional states. (semi-nudes, M/F/TG & everything in between, all appropriate ages, signed release)
portraiture & nudes sessions , tailored, collaborative, and varied mediums. looking to set aside our daily lives for a second, and build a series of images where personality meshes with reality & the perception of fantasy. (nudes & clothed, M/F/TG & everything in between, all appropriate ages, signed release)
more to come! mini-zines! adventures! photowalks!
and as always, many many thanks to all. please feel free to contact me with your information on participation, leads to other collaborators, questions, comments, and any other suggestions and ideas!

you’re leaning on a back railing on your fire escape. your great friend and collaborator is giving you gilded daggers out from her eyes, and for some reason, that’s exactly what you were looking for.
the winds are soft and temperate, and it’s the first day of winter. your shot is made, and she climbs back through the kitchen window. and then you follow, daggers still intact.
everything is great, and saturday has begun to come together nicely.
