" no good-byes, just see-you-next-times "

adventure adventure adventure for all the rest of our days.

we find ourselves at the end of a brief sojourn, the winds from both rivers brushing against the entirety of our bodies. grass beneath our feet, solid ground, shifting plates, moving planet.

best of luck from now until then.

tonight's homework:

sunshine, discovery, curiosity, glorious bewilderment, wide soul smile sun bright blissed out.

sometimes you discover yourself after a lifetime of searching.

sometimes you don't even have to actively be looking.

sometimes you realize you've been there right in front of yourself the entire time.

then everything slows and everything comes into perfect clarity.

the idea of home passes through your thoughts, and resides in the structure of your heart, nestled in-between the cell walls, plasma, and oxygen-rich ephemera.

a time spent with strangers and old friends. great deliberate attempts at conversation and understanding.

the world shrinks a little, as we make those vital social connections. laughter, recognition, camaraderie, an intimacy of newness and shared information.

we find ourselves with less and less time left on the planet, and yet with each passing day, we become closer to it all. this renewal of awe and sentimentality purely fuels the desire to be more social and make more connections.

this is the active making time to be furiously leisurely while making an acquaintance. these are the actions which lead to slowing down the pace.

finding inspiration in those artists who have found a way to live a creative life. love with geometry, techniques and skill-sets intermingling with each other.
collaborators, dreamers, troubleshooters, troublemakers, tandem adventurers, explorers, partners in crimes who are against not using your mind, heart, brain, soul, passions.
i travel far distances to seek out those same attributes in myself, and knowing that there is every potential that i too inhabit the same abilities as those who shine and instill wonder.
there may be many miles to go before i sleep, but this waking dream is ever-expanding.

constant discoveries abound, and how we will continue to explore this world in the pursuit of truths, beauty, knick-knacks, paddwwhacks, and give-a-dog-a-bone.
ceaseless joys among friends and strangers, walking through this place in a time of uncertainty, and the adventure of being in it together.
who are the lonely few who will not join our reverie? and i say join in anytime, as all are most certainly welcome.

there’s nothing like great friends having a prepared feast when your mom’s in town.
it was such a crazy weekend train day, alongside the foggy steady rainy wetness, alongside the heavy scores from the filmbiz recycling wareheez. and alongside making sure your mom is having fun.
big ups to my peeps and yay for rad aprons, cheese platters, an assortment of delectable hotness, and a sampling of varied japanese sake.
it was most definitely a beautiful end to a full up day of here-to-there-and-backs.

small gathering at the newly opened double-rinks in the park. what a great idea, to have one indoors and one out, and connected via an ice-path of sorts. genius.
near nothing replicates that joy, and i was very much happy to visit this place again after its long renovation. despite an overly complacent staff, lack of music, lack of sharpness in the blades, and no offer of open lockers so that you may provide your own lock from home, a great time was had. after around two hours straight, i was barely winded.
i used to play ice hockey for almost a decade as a child, and i’ve never lost that sense of awe and whimsy when approaching the surface of the ice, and taking a first gliding length out.
the air wrapping itself around your body like a casual jet-stream. caressing, low whistle past the ears, the sense of flight as you slice through crowds of fellow patrons and into the open night air.

simple things, simple things. all the answers are in there.

this past weekend, i had another very fruitful photographic collaboration with a friend of mine. the sun was luminous and shining bright through scattered wispy clouds, which were like wispy silks in sapphire waters.

we talked about many things, listened to the radio, laughed, and made a celebration of creativity. the direct times where you have the task at hand; the execution of the idea into being. the in between times, where you shift and contemplate, sometimes quietly, and sometimes with a flurry of movements; a brush on a canvas, splashes in the shallows, careful placement all around.

in the end, our collab was so powerful in its simplicity. it was not only a workday weekend, but it helped to reaffirm that i live for these moments. i thrive in these moments, and with trust, bravery, and camaraderie, everything suddenly becomes possible.

tonight's homework:

find a friend or collaborator for a work of your own...or their own. help them on their project, or be helped in bringing yours to life. flourish and expand, be bright, be great, be bold, and be fearless. express all you have to express, then refine it, and do it again.
