the remains of a millennia

the aching sun recedes,

the planet breathes and sighs,

the wheel comes around.

volcanic remnants and the steady wash of low tide,

a witness to the revolution of

a ceaseless cycle.

minerals, molecules, mollusks,

aquatic organisms, fauna and flora, all manner of creature.

all the displaced remains of a millennia,

strewn forth and cast upon distant shores.

ancient oxygen in the clutch of

an eon's crystalline grip,

somberly marks the passage of time.
